Diabetes is a condition where the body is unable to produce insulin, which is a hormone responsible for the synthesis of sugar; it can also happen when the body is unable to use the hormone. This in turn leads to a spike in blood sugar. Though it may not seem like a serious issue, if not treated and controlled on time, diabetes can damage internal organs like heart and kidneys. People suffering from diabetes are even said to be at a higher risk of catching the novel coronavirus infection.
